For months, taxpayers have been anticipating the expiration of the 2017 with the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, set to end in 2026. Throughout this year, the focus has been on planning ahead to adapt to these changes.

Senior Financial Planner Thomas Pontius, CFP discusses his tax planning expectations heading closer to the new year, with considerations of the upcoming new administration.

We won’t know the details until we start seeing proposed bills next year. Congress still needs to pass a tax bill, and in 2021, when Democrats controlled [the Congress and the White House], they weren’t able to pass Build Back Better.” shares Thomas.
